KCCA FC sacks manager Mike Mutebi

KCCA FC has announced that they have parted company with their manager Mike Hillary Mutebi. The sacking of Mike Mutebi follows poor and lacking performance of the club exhibited this season.

Currently, KCCA FC lay fourth on the table of Uganda premier league after playing 15 games. URA FC leads the table, followed by vipers.

“KCCA FC and the Manager, Mike Hillary Mutebi have agreed by mutual consent to terminate his employment with immediate effect.” the club said in a statement

The Club, under his stewardship has attained three League titles, two Uganda Cups, Four Super Cups and One CECAFA Clubs Cup over the last five years making him the most successful Manager in the Club’s history.

“The Club recognizes his immense contribution in making KCCA FC the leading Club in Uganda and wishes him well in his future endeavors. Morley Byekwaso takes charge of all First Team duties as the Interim Manager.”

Byekwaso who has been the assistant manager at KCCA FC, was the coach of the Uganda Hippos in the just concluded AFCON U20. Byekwaso guided the Hippos to three wins against Mozambique and host Mauritania in the group stages and Tunisia in the semi-finals.

The Hippos also won against Burkina Faso in the post-match penalty kicks after a draw in normal time against Burkina Faso in the quarter-finals.

The U20 side lost against Cameroon in the group stages before falling to Ghana in the final.
