Police commissions New headquarters in Luuka

On the 22ndMarch 2021, the Director Human Resource and Administration, Additional Inspector General of Police Jesse Kamunanwire officially commissioned the brand new District Police headquarters in Luuka in a ceremony that was attended by various officials.

Harangued by reports of corruption and injustice in the recent past, and the President himself chastising and accusing the security institution publicly, the Police force can finally breathe a sigh of relief as the year 2021 begins on a good note.

After having just commissioned a new police post in Nansana that was gifted to them by petroleum company Stabex, as well as new additions to the official traffic police uniform, the Police force now opened its new office Headquarters in Luuka District that will house all the district police offices.

However many Ugandans feel that its changes a merely cosmetic as several families continue to question the police on the whereabouts of their relatives who were detained during the recent election violence on various charges.

Today the North Councilor for Rubaga Apollo Mubiru was remanded in the General Court Martial for unlawful possession of military attire while Hon. Ssegirinya Muhammed was arrested for protesting against the ‘un-lawful’ detention of various Ugandans who are still missing.
