Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi, two others are in Uganda ahead of Museveni’s inauguration

At least three African Presidents are in Uganda a head of the swearing in ceremony of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. Museveni the incumbent was in January declared the winner of presidential elections beating National Unity Platform’s (NUP) Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine and other nine candidates.

The wearing in ceremony will take place tomorrow, May 12, 2021 at Kololo Independence Grounds Under the theme; ‘Shaping Uganda’s Destiny, Our Sole Collective Effort’.

So far the president of Burundi Évariste Ndayishimiye and the president of Somalia Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed were the first guests to arrive in the country ahead of tomorrow’s ceremony.

The South Africa Minister for International Relations and Cooperation, Naledi Pandor has also arrived in the in the country. They were received by the minister of internal affairs Okello Oryem.

The three are part of the 42 invited heads of state from Africa and the rest of the world, and so far 21 have confirmed attendance.

The heads of state and delegations expected on May 12:

3. President of Zimbabwe- Emmerson Mnangagwa

4. President of Burundi- Évariste Ndayishimiye

5. African Union (AU) chairperson and DR Congo president- Felix Antoine Tshisekedi

6. President of Ghana- Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo

7. President of South Sudan- Salva Kiir Mayardit

8. African Union Commission (AUC) Chairperson- Moussa Mahamat Faki

9. Russian Federation Presidential Representative

10. Prime Minister of Gabon- Rose Christiane Ossouka Raponda

11. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic- Mohamed Salem Ould Salek

12. Minister of Combatants of Mozambique-

13. EAC Secretary General- Peter Mathuki

14. International Conference on Great Lakes Region ES

15. Republic of South Africa Minister of International Relations and Cooperation

16. IGAD Executive Secretary- Ambassador João Samuel Caholo.

17.Federal Republic of Nigeria Vice President- Yemi Osinbajo
