Speaker Jacob Oulanyah passes on

Dark news coming in from Seattle, United States of America inform us that the Speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanyah has passed on today Morning after battling an illness not yet disclosed, that left him bed ridden and under intensive care for months.

The former Minister of Oromo district also served as deputy speaker for 10 years until recently when he succeeded former speaker, Honorable Rebecca Kadaga.

The news comes shortly after a delegation that included: deputy Speaker Anita Among, Chief Justice Alfonse Owiny-Dollo and Dr. jane Ruth Aceng among others, travelled to the U.S where it was revealed that the Speaker was indeed responding to treatment.

However the news of his death has left many bereft and the NRM party at a loss. The president, His Excellency Yoweeri Kaguta Museveni confirmed his death in a tweet early Sunday Morning.

“Countrymen and Countrywomen. It is with a lot of sadness that I announce the death of the Rt. Hon. Javob Oulanyah, the Speaker of Parliament. I got the information of this sad news at 10:30am, East African time from people that have been with him and the doctor that was caring for him in the intensive care unit. He was a good cadre. I delayed the announcement so that his children would be informed first.” He tweeted.
