Tooro United, Arua Hill Storm The StarTimes Uganda Premier League

Western region’s Tooro United and West Nile’s Arua Hill fought hard to enter the coming StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

Tooro United topped the Rwenzori group with 31 points off 14 matches as Arua Hill finished on the summit of the Elgon group with 30 points.

This confirmation came after the final round for the regular season which climaxed successfully.

Tooro United beat a hard fighting Kigezi Home Boyz 1-0 at the Mutesa II Wankulukukuku stadium without fans because of mitigation for the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Marvin Oshaba scored the all important goal, a well struck penalty in the 27th minute.

On the other hand, Arua Hill condemned Paidha Black Angels 4-0 at the Barifa play ground in Arua city to seal the direct berth in style.

Rashid Kawawa struck a brace with Gadafi Gadihno and Ceaser Okhuti each adding a goal for Arua Hill.

These will be the play-offs that include three games for the four remaining clubs to determine the third side that will make the Uganda Premier League grade.

Gaddafi will take on Nyamityobora as Proline face Blacks Power in the first matches of the play off to determine the two finalists who will lock horns for the third club to be promoted to the Star Times Uganda Premier League.

The final game will be between the Rwenzori and Elgon group winners; Tooro United against Arua Hill to decide who the champion of the 2021 StarTimes FUFA Big League is.

The venue and dates for these four matches are yet to determined by the FUFA Competitions department.


Four clubs were relegated after the completion of the regular season.

Kigezi Home Boyz as well as Terrazo and Tiles were both in the Rwenzori group.

Mbale Heroes and Paidha Black Angels fell in the Elgon group.

The FUFA Executive committee is expected to convene as soon as possible so as to pass the verdict of the relegated clubs considering the fact that the federation confirmed there will be no action in the FUFA Regional leagues.
